Is the Deadline a Carrot?

Like most people, my strongest motivation comes from having a deadline. Oh look, April 30th. I was thinking about what keeps me going in game. In April I have played, Oxygen Not Included, Guild Wars 2, No Man’s Sky, Stellaris, ARK and a bit of TABS. My interest in each has gone up and down
